The 18th collection of articles on scientific research in protected natural areas of Belarus has been published

The 18th issue of the annual collection of scientific articles “Specially Protected Natural Areas of Belarus. Research" has been published. It presents the results of scientific research conducted in specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of the Republic of Belarus on various aspects of environmental issues.

The articles highlight the analysis and results of scientific research on the inventory of flora and fauna on the territory of the Berezinsky Biosphere and Polessky Radiation-Ecological Reserves, national parks “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, “Braslav Lakes”, “Pripyatsky” and “Narochansky”, wetland, biological, hydrological and landscape reserves of republican and local significance, natural monuments.

You can get aquainted with the prospects for the development of geoparks in the Republic of Belarus, the structure of forests and other natural complexes and an assessment of their state, monitoring the populations of protected plant species using GIS and of mammals using camera traps, identifying invasive insect species, analyzing the level of infestation of protected areas with parasitoids, the results of pathology studies of forest plantations. Data is provided on the biodiversity of the fauna of birds, insects and aquatic invertebrates, new and rare species of insects and spiders, higher plants, algae and myxomycetes, the locations of the new finds of protected species and additions to the lists of species.

The authors of the articles presented in the collection are scientists of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve and other state environmental and research institutions of Belarus, including the State Research and Production Association "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Bioresources", the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Experimental Botany named after V.F. Kuprevich NAS of Belarus", Belarusian State University, Baranovichi State University, etc.

The collection, intended for researchers, specialists from state environmental institutions, teachers and students of higher educational institutions, has been published by the Belarusian Press House since 2006.
